A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Maintenance Planner to join its Montreal refinery team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance activities, as well as supporting planned production shutdowns. The role will work closely with Operations and Maintenance to prioritize work, improve maintenance performance, and support budget and equipment-related initiatives.

The Role The Maintenance Planner will play a key role in optimizing maintenance activities through effective planning, scheduling, performance tracking, and process improvement. The successful candidate will also support the automation of maintenance systems and reporting while working closely with maintenance supervisors and unionized trades personnel.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, and coordinate preventive, corrective, modification, and project maintenance activities in collaboration with Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs, ensuring work is properly scheduled, distributed, completed, and tracked.
- Lead maintenance systems automation initiatives and develop tools with IT to improve work-order management,



reporting, and access to maintenance performance indicators.
- Collect, analyze, and report maintenance performance data, including equipment breakdowns, work completion, work orders, and other key performance indicators.
- Support maintenance workforce development by contributing to the training and development of unionized trades employees and maintenance supervisors.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a DEC/DEP in Maintenance or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance planning or similar role, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, with experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); Maximo experience is an asset.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry and/or a unionized setting is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to change, manage stress, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
