Brandt Corporate Services is seeking a detailed oriented Manager of Accounting to join our growing team in Regina, SK. The Manager of Accounting shall be responsible for assisting the Divisional Controller with the management of overall financial operations within the division and will work collaboratively to provide accurate financial information for the operations, including preparing financial reporting, account reconciliations. This role will direct and manage the day-to-day accounting functions and produce monthly financial results for the applicable division.
It will report and provide analysis on monthly results to the Divisional Controller and Director of Financial Reporting and Control, manage the monthly and annual financial reporting; and various projects within the Finance Department.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Manage the day-to-day accounting functions including the entry of journal entries, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and statutory reporting.
- Monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Hire, supervise and evaluate accounting staff,
ensuring that all personnel are adequately trained and have up-to-date job descriptions.
- Partner with other departments (operations, HR, other finance function) to align financial practices with business goals
- Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results for each department.
- Work with the Divisional Controller and Operations to define, measure, analyze, improve and control current processes which impact customer quality and influence internal operating efficiency.
- Work with external auditors on year-end audit.
- Assist with research and development on various accounting requirements along with various CRA requirements.
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments and responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
- Collaborate with other finance and operations teams to support budget preparation and monitoring
- Monitor internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures.
- Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis, and reporting.
- Assist the Divisional Controller in setting the priorities within accounting group and streamlining accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with the coordination of the year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements.
- Assist with the coordination of all other customer and government audits.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and external reporting to financial institutions, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met.
- Assist with all other financial reporting to various companies and agencies (Insurance, Stats Can, etc.).
- With input from Senior Management, work with the Divisional Controller on the formulation of accounting policies, procedures and controls.
- Specific projects and other related duties as required.
What We Look For
- University degree in Business/Accounting, with advanced degree or professional accounting designation (such as CPA) preferred.
- Experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management, including accounting principles, practices and applications as well as financial analysis and budgeting experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational, leadership, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
- Knowledge of ERP computer systems an asset.
- Able to efficiently lead a team of employees, work as part of a team and work independently as well.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Attention to detail in all areas of work.
