The opportunity: In the leadership position of National Digital Strategy Leader, you will work directly with the Senior Vice President, Operations and be responsible for the facilitation and management of all digital growth initiatives within the MGA space, current and future.
This role will be a key driver in the development, launch, and ongoing optimization of new digital products, product enhancements, and underwriting guidelines across the business being traded in a digital format. You will work closely with Underwriting, Practice Leaders, Operations, IT, and our software provider to improve the digital experience, drive adoption, and support profitable growth.
In this role you will:
- Work with Underwriting and Practice Leaders to identify, assess, and implement product enhancements, rating changes, underwriting guideline updates, and workflow improvements based on business needs, competitor insights, broker feedback, product results, and market insights.
- Partner with Underwriting, Practice Leaders,
Operations, and IT to support the creation and introduction of new products within the digital platform, including defining product requirements, coordinating implementation, supporting testing, and ensuring the final digital experience aligns with business and underwriting objectives.
- Research and monitor product results, including submission activity, quote and bind ratios, referral levels, broker usage trends, profitability indicators, and other performance measures to identify opportunities for product changes, appetite adjustments, and operational improvements.
- Work with Underwriting leaders to reduce referrals, streamline workflows, and optimize UW and Broker processes to increase the number of transactions completed by brokers within the digital platform.
- Work with our software provider to ensure changes and enhancements are developed, tested, and implemented in a timely fashion while supporting the ongoing evolution of the digital platform.
- Maintain knowledge of competitor products offered through digital channels and use those insights to support product development, enhancement recommendations, pricing considerations, and platform prioritization.
- Work closely with Underwriting, Operations, and IT, and support Underwriter and Broker training where required to ensure successful adoption and implementation of digital products and processes.
Here’s what you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field or experience. Professional certifications (e.g., CIP, FCIP) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in underwriting within personal lines insurance, with a focus on digital channels and products
- Proven experience managing underwriting teams and collaborating across departments to execute product and pricing strategies
- Strong understanding of digital insurance platforms, workflows, and the broker experience, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and increase digital adoption
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving digital environment
- Strong work ethic without sacrificing your ability to have fun on the job
