About the Company

Enerva builds and manages a portfolio of software products serving the energy efficiency and sustainability sector. We're a growing, revenue-generating company with real customers and real traction — small enough that your work is visible, large enough that it matters. Our products are used by utilities, program administrators, contractors, and building owners to run programs, model savings, and report outcomes.

About the Role

We're hiring a Marketing Specialist to own the words and the positioning behind our software portfolio. You'll write the content, hold the quality bar for content others write, and shape how each product presents itself to the market. This is a hands-on role with unusual range.

In a given week you might draft a product launch announcement, rewrite the empty-state copy on a dashboard with our UI/UX designer, tear down a competitor's pricing page, and brief the leadership team on where we're being out-messaged. If you want to write and think strategically and you're frustrated by roles that only let you do one, this is that job.

Responsibilities

Write

- Produce the content that carries our products to market: website and landing page copy, product one-pagers, case studies, blog posts, email campaigns, sales collateral, and launch announcements.
- Write in-product copy — onboarding flows, feature explanations, tooltips, error and empty states — in close partnership with the UI/UX designer.
- Translate technical subject matter (energy modelling, program delivery, measurement and verification, regulatory requirements) into language a buyer actually understands.
- Adapt voice across audiences: a utility program manager, a field contractor, and a procurement officer do not read the same way.

Review

- Serve as the editorial gate for outbound content, reviewing work from subject matter experts, contractors, sales, and leadership for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
- Build and maintain the style guide, messaging frameworks, and terminology standards that keep our products sounding like they come from the same company.
- Audit existing content on a regular cycle — retire what's stale, update what's drifted, consolidate what's duplicated.

Build the Brand

- Develop and maintain positioning and messaging for each product in the portfolio, and define how those products relate to each other under the Enerva umbrella.
- Establish brand guidelines alongside the UI/UX designer so that visual identity and verbal identity reinforce each other.
- Grow our presence in the channels where our buyers actually spend time — industry publications, conferences, partner networks, LinkedIn.
- Act as a steward of brand consistency across every touchpoint, from the sales deck to the support inbox to the invoice.

Analyze the Competition

- Run ongoing competitive analysis: who else is in the market, what they claim, how they price, who they win against and why.
- Maintain living competitive intelligence — battlecards, comparison matrices, win/loss themes — that sales and product can use immediately.
- Monitor category and market shifts (regulatory changes,

utility program cycles, new entrants) and flag the implications early.
- Turn analysis into recommendations. We want the "so what," not just the research.

Drive Growth

- Partner with product and leadership on go-to-market plans for new products and major releases.
- Define what each campaign is meant to move, instrument it, and report on it honestly.
- Use performance data and customer feedback to iterate on messaging rather than defending the first draft.
- Contribute to pipeline and revenue targets as a measured participant, not a support function.

Qualifications

- 3+ years in marketing, content, or communications — ideally in B2B software, SaaS, or a technical field.
- A portfolio that demonstrates range: long-form and short-form, technical and persuasive.
- Demonstrated ability to learn a complex domain quickly and write about it credibly.
- Experience editing others' work and giving direct, useful feedback without friction.
- Comfort with analytics tooling and a habit of tying content decisions to outcomes.
- Genuine collaboration skills — this role only works if design, product, and sales want to work with you.

Preferred Skills

- Background in energy, cleantech, utilities, sustainability, or the built environment.
- Experience marketing more than one product under a single brand.
- Familiarity with design tooling (Figma) and working inside a designer's process.
- Hands-on experience with CMS platforms, marketing automation, and basic SEO.
- Startup or scale-up experience, where scope is wide and process is something you help build.

Equal Chance Statement

We are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices.
