Position Description

As a Materials Coordinator, you will drive end-to-end materials management across major projects, serving as the link between engineering, logistics, and fabrication yards. Operating autonomously with minimal oversight, you will manage requisitions, track spool fabrication and module assembly, resolve site inventory discrepancies, and maintain data discipline.

This role requires 5+ years of EP industry experience, strong technical material tracking expertise, and the leadership ability to mentor team members in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Take full ownership of material coordination across EP projects, serving as the primary autonomous interface between engineering, procurement, logistics, module assembly yards, and vendors.
- Maintain, track, and build reporting for inbound/outbound shipments, work orders, and work dispatches. Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to monitor trends and maintain precise stock schedules.
- Coordinate and track movement of bulk piping, structural steel, equipment, and spool fabrications through module assembly yards and site facilities, ensuring strict material heat traceability.
- Analyze material status, lead times, arrival dates, and purchase orders to drive on-time delivery in line with contract terms. Expedite critical items and maintain real-time tracking.
- Partner with buyers, engineers, expeditors, and suppliers to resolve delivery delays, material deficiencies, back-charges, and site overages/shortages while building strong vendor relationships.
- Potential to mentor junior coordination staff, and perform other duties as assigned to support project delivery.

Requirements

- 5+ years of materials management, inventory control, and logistics experience within an EP or EPC setting in the Energy or Oil & Gas sector.

- Proven background managing module assembly yards and spool fabrication tracking, including material heat traceability, piping specs, and structural steel control.
- Demonstrated ability to execute the role independently with minimal guidance, paired with the skills to mentor and train junior team members.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong capability to analyze lead times, manage complex inventory schedules, and resolve shipping discrepancies, vendor claims, and logistics issues.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, or Business (or equivalent field experience) with solid knowledge of contract terms, freight, and customs would be considered an asset.
