Role Description This full-time Mechanic role is an on-site position located in Sudbury, ON. The Mechanic will perform maintenance, inspection, and repair work on a range of heavy equipment used in mining, construction, forestry, and related industries. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting preventive maintenance, completing scheduled and unscheduled repairs, and documenting service work in accordance with company standards.
The role involves using diagnostic tools, reading technical manuals, following safety procedures,
and collaborating with other team members to minimize equipment downtime. The Mechanic will also support continuous improvement of maintenance practices and contribute to a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
Qualifications
- Strong maintenance skills, including Maintenance, Preventive Maintenance, and Maintenance & Repair on heavy equipment.
- Hands-on experience working with Heavy Equipment, including familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Effective Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve mechanical and technical issues efficiently.
- Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship as a Heavy Equipment Technician, Mechanic, or equivalent is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial and heavy equipment environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals, and equipment specifications.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete work orders accurately.
- Capacity to work on-site in Sudbury, ON, including occasional overtime or shift work as project needs require.
