About the Opportunity

Mantech Enterprises is looking for a full time Mechanical Estimator Lead based in North Vancouver, BC.

Reporting to the President, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening Mantech’s estimating function by combining hands-on technical estimating with day-to-day leadership, guidance, and workload coordination for the estimating team.

In this position, you will be primarily responsible for managing manufacturing RFQs from initial review through quotation and order entry, ensuring estimates reflect customer requirements, technical feasibility, production costs, and margin targets.





More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Receiving, triaging, and delegating incoming RFQs in collaboration with the sales and estimating teams
- Interpreting mechanical drawings and technical specifications to identify missing information, complex features, and manufacturability considerations
- Clarifying project requirements with customers and coordinating technical input from internal specialists
- Determining labour, machining, material, finishing, and logistics requirements for custom manufacturing projects
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations using ProShop ERP, sales history, and established margin targets
- Following up on quotations and completing purchase-order verification, order entry, and work-order creation
- Collaborating with engineering, machining, and fabrication teams to develop practical, cost-effective manufacturing solutions
- Guiding the estimating team while helping establish effective procedures, structure, and continuous-improvement practices

To read the full position description, please click here About You To qualify, you will need 5+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, machining, metal fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment.

Construction estimating experience alone will not satisfy the technical requirements of this position unless supported by relevant machining or manufacturing experience.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

- Experience preparing estimates and quotations within a machine shop, metal fabrication facility, or custom manufacturing environment
- Robust knowledge of machining processes, fabrication methods, materials, measurement principles, and production requirements
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and identify technical gaps,



complex features, and manufacturability concerns
- Experience calculating labour, machine time, materials, finishing, logistics, and other project costs
- Proficiency with ProShop or another manufacturing ERP system and Microsoft Office
- Previous leadership, mentoring, or workflow-coordination experience, or clear readiness to step into a lead role
- Strong customer-service and communication skills when clarifying technical requirements
- Effective planning, prioritization, organization, and time-management abilities
