Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX: As an Inventory Control Analyst, you will support the accuracy, integrity, and governance of retail and warehouse inventory across North America. Working closely with the Manager, Inventory Control, you will help ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in SAP, support inventory reconciliations, monitor variances, and assist with investigations and reporting activities. You will play a key role in analyzing inventory performance, identifying discrepancies, supporting root-cause investigations, and maintaining compliance with inventory control policies and procedures.
This position will also support retail and supply chain inventory control activities, including stock count coordination, variance analysis, shrink monitoring, and relocation count reviews. As a critical link between Finance, Retail and Warehouse Operations, and Technology, you will help drive inventory accuracy, strengthen controls, and support audit readiness across the organization through data analysis, reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives. This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work.
Retail Inventory Variance Management
Investigating retail inventory variances across SAP and retail systems, identifying root causes and supporting resolution activities. Reviewing inventory movement history and transaction activity to validate inventory accuracy and recommend corrective actions. Partnering with Retail Operations and Technology teams to identify recurring issues and support process improvements. Preparing variance analyses and reporting to support decision-making and inventory governance.
Store Stock Counts
Supporting the planning, execution, and reconciliation of physical inventory counts across retail stores. Coordinating with third-party count vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure count quality and timely completion. Performing SAP pre-count preparation activities, inventory reconciliations, and post-count analysis.
Ensuring inventory count processes and documentation comply with established controls, audit requirements, and company policies. Partnering with Store Operations teams to support inventory count readiness and execution best practices. Shrink, Theft, and High-Risk Adjustments Analyzing shrink-related adjustments and inventory discrepancies to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Supporting investigations into significant inventory losses and maintaining appropriate supporting documentation. Monitoring shrink trends and preparing reporting and recommendations for review by Inventory Control leadership. Collaborating with Asset Protection, Finance, and Retail Operations teams to identify opportunities for inventory loss reduction.
Inventory
Control for Store Relocations & Renovations Supporting physical inventory count activities associated with store decommissions, relocations, renovations, and new store openings. Reconciling inventory movements between stores and Warehouses to ensure accurate inventory records. Maintaining documentation and audit support for inventory transfers and physical count activities.
Assisting in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies arising from store moves and operational changes. Preparing recurring inventory control reports, KPI dashboards, and exception reporting for Retail and Supply Chain stakeholders. Analyzing inventory trends, transaction activity, and count results to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
Supporting month-end inventory reconciliation activities and audit requests. Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring timely resolution of inventory exceptions. Are you our next Inventory Control Analyst?
You have 3+ years of experience in inventory control, retail operations,
or related finance roles. You have a strong understanding of ERP inventory systems (SAP preferred) and retail inventory flows. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
You are highly detail-oriented and comfortable working with large data sets and complex reconciliations. You have advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with inventory reporting and analysis. You have demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional partners, including Retail Operations, Finance, Technology, Supply Chain, and Distribution Centre teams, to resolve issues and improve inventory accuracy.
