Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Medical Office Administrator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will oversee the daily operations of our medical office, ensuring smooth administrative workflows and exceptional patient service. You will manage appointment scheduling, medical records, billing, and human resources functions, all while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations with precision using electronic scheduling systems such as Dentrix or similar software.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMRs), ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with health information privacy standards.
- Assist with billing processes, insurance claims submissions, and payment collections to optimize revenue flow.
- Supervise administrative staff and support human resources activities including onboarding, training, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology to accurately document patient interactions and assist healthcare providers.
- Oversee office supplies inventory, budgeting,
and vendor relationships to ensure operational efficiency.
- Support healthcare providers in clinical settings by coordinating hospital or acute care documentation when necessary.
- Facilitate communication between patients, staff, and external entities such as hospitals or insurance companies to streamline processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a dental or medical office environment with familiarity in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Dentrix or comparable platforms.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices, including hospital or acute care settings.
- Demonstrated supervising experience managing administrative teams within a healthcare setting.
- Background in human resources functions related to staffing, onboarding, and employee management.
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with hospital procedures or nursing practices is a plus for understanding clinical workflows.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
