Position Summary The Mobile Power Installation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and performing the installation of mobile power and electrical systems in commercial vehicles while ensuring all completed work meets internal quality, safety, and installation standards.

This is a hands-on supervisory role that combines installation responsibilities with quality control and oversight of completed vehicle installations. The Mobile Power Installation Supervisor will perform installations as required, support installation technicians, troubleshoot installation issues, and conduct final quality control inspections prior to vehicle release.

Key Responsibilities

Mobile Power Installation

- Perform installation of mobile power and electrical systems in commercial vehicles.
- Install equipment including inverters, battery chargers, DC-DC chargers, auxiliary batteries, shore power systems, electrical distribution components, outlets, and related equipment.
- Install and route DC and AC wiring, cables, fuses, fuse holders, breakers, connectors, wire loom, and associated components.
- Build and install electrical harnesses and cable assemblies as required.
- Follow electrical schematics, installation drawings, work orders, and manufacturer installation requirements.
- Ensure wiring and components are properly routed, protected, secured, terminated, and labelled.
- Perform system testing and confirm proper operation following installation.

Quality Control

- Perform thorough quality control inspections on completed vehicle installations.
- Verify installations meet W/E workmanship, safety, and installation standards.
- Confirm equipment and components are installed in the correct locations and according to approved specifications.
- Inspect wiring, cable routing, connections, mounting, fastening, protection, and overall workmanship.




- Verify electrical systems and installed equipment operate correctly.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed prior to vehicle release.
- Complete and maintain required quality control documentation and inspection records.
- Help identify recurring quality issues and recommend improvements to installation methods and processes.

Supervision & Shop Support

- Provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to installation technicians.
- Assist technicians with troubleshooting and resolving installation challenges.
- Ensure technicians follow approved installation procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Monitor workmanship and provide coaching where improvements are required.
- Support workflow and job prioritization to help ensure vehicles are completed according to schedule.
- Communicate installation issues, material requirements, delays, and quality concerns to management.
- Help develop and maintain consistent installation practices across the shop.

Qualifications & Skills

- Experience with automotive, commercial vehicle, fleet, electrical, or mobile power installations required.
- Robust mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Experience installing or working with inverters, chargers, batteries, electrical distribution systems, or similar mobile power equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions.
- Familiarity with 12V and 24V DC electrical systems and 120V AC systems is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and workmanship.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment and common installation tools.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while providing direction and support to others.
- Valid driver's license.
