Business Job Title: National Account & Brand Manager- Appliance Division (Canada)
Job Summary: Reporting to the Sales Director, the National Account Manager & Brand Manager is responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and market presence of the company's appliance brands across Canada. This role combines strategic account management of key national retail partners with brand leadership responsibilities to ensure consistent execution of sales, marketing, merchandising, and product initiatives.
The incumbent develops and strengthens relationships with national accounts, identifies growth opportunities, leads promotional and merchandising strategies, manages brand positioning, and collaborates closely with internal teams to execute business objectives. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers, sales leadership, marketing, product management, and external agency partners to maximize revenue, market share,
and brand awareness.
Job Responsibilities:
National Account Management
- Manage and develop strategic relationships with national retail accounts, including but not limited to Brick, Leon's, Canadian Appliance Source, BEST BUY, Ashley/Dufresne and other key appliance partners.
- Develop and execute annual business plans with national customers to drive sales growth, profitability, and market share.
- Lead contract negotiations, annual programs, promotional agreements, and account reviews.
- Identify new business opportunities and implement strategies to expand distribution and sales.
- Conduct regular business reviews with customers, including sales performance, category opportunities, inventory management, and future growth initiatives.
- Monitor customer performance and establish action plans to achieve or exceed sales objectives.
- Recommend pricing, promotional investments, and category management initiatives to support company goals.
- Collaborate with customers on merchandising opportunities, product launches, and display programs.
- Manage and grow relationships with key independent and regional dealers throughout the Greater Toronto Area, ensuring strong market presence and sales performance.
- Oversee and direct a merchandising agency responsible for supporting rural market coverage, in-store merchandising execution, display maintenance, and new store setup initiatives.
Brand Management
- Develop and execute brand growth strategies for Broan, Best, Zephyr, and other assigned brands within the Canadian market.
- Ensure brand positioning, messaging, and market execution remain consistent across all sales channels.
- Partner with marketing teams to develop annual promotional calendars, advertising initiatives, digital marketing campaigns, and product launch activities.
- Monitor market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Support the development of sales tools, promotional materials, training content, and merchandising programs.
- Evaluate brand performance and recommend strategic initiatives to improve awareness, engagement, and revenue generation.
- Manage relationships with external marketing, merchandising, and retail service agencies.
- Product Launch & Portfolio Management
- Coordinate successful product introductions across national accounts and retail channels.
- Work closely with Product Management and Marketing teams to communicate market feedback, customer requirements, and emerging trends.
- Identify opportunities for assortment optimization and category expansion.
- Support forecasting, inventory planning, and product lifecycle management activities.
- Customer & Market Development
- Conduct customer presentations, business reviews, training sessions, and sales meetings.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of industry trends,
market conditions, and competitive activities.
- Represent the company at regional and national trade shows, customer events, and industry functions.
- Build strong relationships with retail merchandising teams and key decision-makers.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, Buyers, and Operations to ensure successful execution of business objectives.
- Assist with demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management activities.
- Support resolution of customer service, warranty, and operational issues.
- Help ensure effective communication and alignment across all internal stakeholders.
- Reporting & Financial Management
- Prepare and manage annual sales forecasts, budgets, and promotional investment plans.
- Monitor sales performance, margins, market share, and profitability metrics.
- Maintain accurate customer records and provide timely reporting to management.
- Analyze sales and financial data to support strategic decision-making.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive experience in National Account Management, Sales Management, Brand Management, or a related commercial role.
- Experience within the appliance, consumer durable goods, retail, or building products industry is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing major retail and national account relationships.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy, consumer marketing, and category management.
- Experience leading promotional programs, annual planning, and customer negotiations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM systems, and business analytics tools.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive business results.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel up to 30-40% of the time, including overnight travel throughout Canada.
- Ability to attend customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
