: Reporting to the Manager, Maternal & Children’s Clinical Integration, the Maternal and Children’s Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of Maternal and Children’s Provincial Programs’ education, quality improvement, clinical benchmarks, safety, and service delivery initiatives.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Experience
- Minimum one (1) year experience in program, education and resource development
- Minimum one (1) year experience in an adult educator role
- 3 years of recent experience in perinatal/obs and/or pediatric nursing
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
Licenses
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Other Education and Training
- Instructor trainer certification preferred eg) FHS, NRP, PEARs, PALS
- Eligibility to pursue or current instructor certification is required
- Advanced maternal child training and/or certification preferred
- Master level of Nursing, Education or Health Administration, is an asset.

- Ability to operate audiovisual, clinical and simulation equipment
- Ability to provide reccomendations on best practice evidence for implementation
- Demonstrated ability to assess learning needs of clinicians
- Ability to support the creation of clinical & standard work, educational modules
- Ability to conduct information searches, analysis and literature reviews
- The ability to conduct needs assessments & develop & deliver presentations.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
- Clinical knowledge and skill set to support pediatric educational programs
- Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates leadership abilities
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others as required
- Ability to coach/guide improvement initiatives related to achieving benchmarks
- Aware of support resources for SHA staff related to mat/child standards of care
- Ability to develop and implement programs / resources from needs assessments
- Establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- Ability to competently use computers and software applications
- Ability to prioritize, interpret and respond to issues in a timely manner
- Ability to facilitate groups to achieve deliverables
- Clinical knowledge and skill set to support maternal/child policies & procedures
- Knowledge of regulatory body requirements in policy/procedure development
