Reporting directly to the Director of People & Workplace Culture, the OHS Coordinator is pivotal in cultivating a secure environment.
Responsibilities include developing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and maintaining compliance with occupational health legislation. Your leadership will help foster a culture of safety for AFN members and contractors. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage tailored OHS programs
- Develop policies for workplace safety and incident reporting
- Conduct safety assessments and investigations
- Lead training for staff and provide public safety guidance
- Collaborate across departments to promote safety initiatives
Requirements:
- Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or similar
- 2-3 years in health and safety coordination
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations
- Experience with safety inspections and hazard assessments
- Strong communication and organizational skills
