Maternity leave coverage: up to 18 months

Part-time 3-4 days/week (clinic days are Monday through Thursday; must be available Tuesday, Wednesday)

Casual training available immediately. Position start: January 2027

Are you an experienced perioperative RN ready for a leadership role that combines clinical excellence, team leadership, quality, operations, and practice development?

As our Operating Room Nurse Manager, you will lead the perioperative team and oversee the patient journey from pre-operative preparation through intra-operative care and recovery. Working closely with the Plastic Surgeon and Clinic Director, you will have meaningful ownership of surgical operations, patient safety, quality improvement, staffing, and ongoing department development.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is clinically confident, highly organized, proactive, and passionate about developing people and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

- Is an experienced RN with strong perioperative/operating room experience.
- Has demonstrated leadership or management experience and is ready to take the next step in their career.
- Has excellent clinical judgment and can confidently lead an OR team.

- Has a strong understanding of patient safety, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and infection prevention and control.
- Communicates confidently and professionally with surgeons, nurses, leadership, vendors, and external organizations.
- Takes ownership, is proactive, and thrives in a quick-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Enjoys mentoring and developing a strong, collaborative team.

Requirements

- Registered Nurse (RN) Diploma or BScN.




- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Membership with RNAO (can be obtained upon hire)
- Perioperative Nursing Certificate or equivalent perioperative experience.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership/management experience.
- Current BLS certification. ACLS certification an asset.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a clinical team.
- Strong understanding of documentation, quality assurance, and patient safety requirements.
- Aesthetic/cosmetic surgical experience an asset.
- Recovery Room/PACU experience an asset.
- Experience with CPSO/OHP requirements and accreditation an asset.
- Experience managing surgical equipment and inventory an asset.

Responsibilities:

Management duties

- Reports jointly to the Medical Director and Clinic Director
- Lead the daily operations of the Operating Room, PACU, and MDRD.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and credentialing, workflow, patient flow, resource allocation within the perioperative space and OHP compliance.
- Lead, support, mentor, and develop the OR and PACU nursing team.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, onboarding, orientation, and engagement of perioperative nursing staff.

Clinical duties

- Provide direct patient care as required and serve as a clinical resource to OR and PACU nurses.
- Ensure appropriate documentation, tracking, follow-up, and reporting of quality and safety initiatives.

Managing the operating room facility:

- Lead QA initiatives in accordance with applicable CPSO OHP guidelines and requirements and maintain readiness for OHP accreditation.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of surgical equipment and ensure equipment is serviced, inspected, maintained and recorded.
- Identify and anticipate equipment, instrumentation, and supply requirements.
- Monitor the operational needs of the OR and proactively address issues before they impact patient care.
- Assume additional responsibilities as delegated by the Medical Director or Clinic Director.
