OPERATIONS & BUSINESS MANAGER

Bark Rangers (a division of Eglinton Dog Walker Inc.) is looking for an organized, motivated, and highly capable person to help manage and grow our business.

This is not a traditional management position. We are a small, hands-on company looking for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, solving problems, and wearing multiple hats.

You will be involved in operations, customer service, staffing, administration, social media, accounting, business development, and dog walking.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants to grow with a small business. For the right person, there is significant opportunity for increased responsibility, compensation, and profit sharing.

LOCATION

North & West Vancouver, BC

Hybrid — combination of remote administrative work and in-person field operations

COMPENSATION

Starting compensation: $40,000 annualized equivalent The position and compensation will be formally reviewed every 3 months.

As you demonstrate strong performance, there is an opportunity to reach up to $70,000 in annualized compensation within the first year.

Long-term opportunities may also include profit sharing.

ABOUT BARK RANGERS

Bark Rangers provides professional pet-care and dog-walking services throughout North and West Vancouver.

Our parent company, Eglinton Dog Walker Inc., has been operating in Ontario for over 14 years and employs a team of full-time dog walkers and managers. We have built a solid reputation for providing active, reliable, and professional care for our clients' dogs.

We are now growing our Vancouver operation and are looking for someone who wants to become an increasingly important part of the business.

THE ROLE

As Operations & Business Manager, you will work directly with the owner and take on a wide range of responsibilities, including:

Operations

- Manage and coordinate day-to-day business operations
- Organize staff schedules and ensure operational coverage
- Improve systems, processes, and efficiency
- Troubleshoot problems and find practical solutions
- Step in to assist with field operations when needed

Client Relations

- Respond to client inquiries professionally and promptly




- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Handle scheduling changes and day-to-day customer needs
- Help maintain an excellent customer experience

Administration & Finance

- Manage scheduling, digital files, and administrative tasks
- Assist with bookkeeping, invoicing, payments, and expenses
- Maintain accurate business records

HR & Team Support

- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding
- Help train and support team members
- Assist with staff communication and performance

Marketing & Business Growth

- Manage social media and create engaging content
- Help grow Bark Rangers' local presence
- Identify opportunities to improve and grow the business
- Improve efficiency, profitability, and customer experience
- Take ownership of projects and work directly with the owner on business initiatives

Field Work

- Walk and care for dogs as part of regular operations, including covering staff vacations and absences
- Hike and work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Maintain the same reliable and professional care expected from our team

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Previous management experience is an asset, but not required. We are most interested in someone who is capable, reliable, adaptable, ambitious, and willing to take genuine ownership of their work.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- The ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong initiative and self-motivation
- A willingness to step in wherever needed
- Comfort with technology and learning new software
- Experience in administration, operations, customer service, or a small-business environment
- Familiarity with basic bookkeeping and accounting
- Comfort with social media and digital communication
- The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the owner and team
- The physical ability to hike and walk dogs outdoors in all weather
- A genuine interest in dogs and animal care





WORK STRUCTURE & HOURS Hybrid Role The position combines remote administrative/computer-based work with regular in-person field operations throughout North and West Vancouver.

Varied Work

No two weeks will look exactly the same. You must be comfortable adapting to changing priorities and stepping into different areas of the business.

Hours

Core business hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Administrative responsibilities may begin as early as 7:00 a.m.

Initial Contract The position begins with a 3-month contract to ensure a strong mutual fit. Performance and compensation will be reviewed every 3 months, with the intention of developing the role into a long-term position for the right candidate.

CAREER GROWTH

This is a role designed to grow with the business.

As you learn the business, demonstrate your abilities, and take on more responsibility, there will be opportunities to grow into a larger management and leadership role.

With strong performance and increased responsibility, compensation has the potential to reach up to $70,000 annualized within the first year.

Longer-term opportunities may include profit sharing and greater responsibility for managing and growing the business.
