We are currently expanding our DeBusk Canada operation based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The Operations Planner (OP) works with Canadian Oil and Gas and Petrochemical clients to plan and execute decontamination, clearing and cleaning projects. The OP is responsible for the overall quality and timeliness of projects. This includes performing procurement functions, tracking costs, progression, and schedule.

The OP makes sure that safety is the number one priority by ensuring all practices and procedures are done to client and company standard. The 0P must develop and maintain good working relationships with new and existing customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Developing UDCC plans in coordination with customer subject matter experts, assisting and supporting the MOC process, delivering documents through stages until final.
- Working in a lead or supporting role with other employees as they execute unit decontamination, clearing and cleaning activities.
- Ensuring safe work at all locations and for all employees.
- Following all internal and customer specific site safety rules and guidelines and actively promoting these with fellow employees, other contractors, and client personnel.




- Leading or participating in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and developing mitigations and solutions.
- Training client teams in the execution of the UDCC plans.
- Ensuring UDCC plans follow the development process as laid out in company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Documenting project stages and progress; planned vs. actual.
- Supporting customers throughout the relationship; seeking customer feedback; taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and/or loyalty.
- Working with sales team to present all service lines to customers and acting as the subject matter expert for UDCC project work

QUALIFICATIONS:

- 5+ years’ experience as a process operator in an upstream or downstream Oil and Gas/Chemical Plant environment; preference is given to those with supervisory experience and/or lead production roles in the Alberta Oilsands industry.
- High School Diploma.
- Possess, or able to possess, a Canadian Passport for purposes of international travel.
- Minimum Class 5 Drivers License with a good driving history.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, well versed in the safe use of small hand tools.
- Interpersonal communication.
- Strong active listening skills.
- Professional presentation, confident in ability to promote service lines and manage work.

- Solid leadership and coaching skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- 3rd Class Power Engineering Certification or a 2-year Engineering Technology Diploma preferred.
- French language skills are an asset

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

- The DeBusk Canada office location is 7211 – 8th Street, Edmonton, Alberta
- Regular Office Hours are Monday to Friday; 0730 to 1600hrs
- Peak months are April/May and September/October.
- Workload during peak months of April/May and September/October will be multiple one week duration projects of 12-hour shifts, with little time between each project.
- There is regular travel expected with this role.
- Most projects will require overnights away from home.
- The Operations Planner enjoys a flexible work schedule during off-peak and planning months.
- This position requires the ability to lift to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and spend up to 16 hours on shift, either day or night shift, weekends, and holidays.
- The applicant must be able to work outside, anytime of the year, with outdoor temperatures anywhere between -40°C to +40°C.
- The applicant must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in poor lighting.
- The applicant must be able to work while wearing any combination of Fire-Resistant Clothing (FRC), hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, CSA safety boots, gloves, half and full-face respirator, chemical suit, and goggles, SCBA, fall protection harness.
