Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as an Optical Dispenser/Optician, where you will play a vital role in enhancing patients’ vision and overall eye health. In this energetic and customer-focused position, you will assist clients in selecting the perfect eyewear solutions, ensure accurate measurements, and provide exceptional service that exceeds expectations. Your expertise will help customers see clearly and feel confident with their eyewear choices, all while working in a fast-paced, supportive environment dedicated to professional growth.

This is a part time 6 month position that can lead to a permanent placement with increased hours.

Duties

- Greet customers warmly and assess their optical needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Measure and fit eyeglasses and sunglasses accurately using specialized tools and techniques
- Educate clients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear maintenance to ensure satisfaction
- Process prescriptions efficiently, verifying details with patients and updating records in optical management systems such as VisualEyes or similar platforms
- Assist in selecting appropriate frames based on face shape, style preferences, and lifestyle requirements
- Maintain laboratory experience by ensuring quality control standards are met




- Support retail sales efforts by promoting eyewear products, accessories, and lens upgrades to maximize customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with the team to manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure the optical area remains organized and inviting
- Pre-test patients in preparation for eye examination
- Some front end duties including answering phones, booking appointments, and billing insurance

Experience

- Prior experience working in an optical setting or retail environment is a requirement
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health enhances communication with healthcare professionals
- Familiarity with optical equipment and technology such as VisualEyes or similar electronic health record systems is advantageous
- Demonstrated success in retail sales or sales-driven roles with a focus on customer service excellence
