Newly Created Position – Build and Grow Our Overhead Door Service Division

Door Service Technician + Car Wash Mechanic

Chem Tec West is a leading provider of car wash equipment, overhead doors, and chemical solutions throughout Western Canada. We are expanding our overhead door services into the Lower Mainland and are looking for an experienced tradesperson to join our door division.

This is a newly created position combining two key areas of our business: industrial overhead door service and car wash equipment service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a new customer base for our overhead door division, building relationships with existing and potential customers, identifying new service and sales opportunities, quoting work, and providing ongoing service and emergency support. This is an chance for someone who wants to play a key role in building the door business from the ground up.

Overhead Door Experience Required – Car Wash Experience Not Required

This is not an entry-level position. The ideal candidate is a Millwright, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, or experienced mechanical tradesperson with proven industrial overhead door experience and strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Industrial overhead door experience is a must. You must have hands-on experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial or industrial overhead doors.

Car wash service experience is not required. We will provide training on our car wash equipment and systems.

This position also includes customer interaction, quoting, emergency response, and business development. You will have the opportunity to build customer relationships, identify new opportunities, promote Chem Tec West products and services, and help grow our Lower Mainland service business.

What You'll Do

Overhead Door Service

- Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair industrial overhead doors and related equipment




- Provide 24/7 emergency overhead door support to customers
- Respond to emergency service calls and quickly diagnose and repair door failures
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Quote overhead door equipment, installations, repairs, and service work
- Build and grow our overhead door customer base
- Develop relationships with existing customers and identify new sales and service opportunities
- Promote Chem Tec West products and services

Car Wash Service

- Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial car wash equipment
- Work on tunnel, touchless, self-serve, and payment systems
- Diagnose mechanical, basic electrical, and plumbing issues
- Perform preventative maintenance and equipment inspections

General Responsibilities

- Work independently at customer sites in a variety of environments and weather conditions
- Complete accurate service reports, time tracking, quotes, and job documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers and provide excellent service
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

Who We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have:

- Millwright, Heavy-Duty Mechanic, or similar mechanical trade experience
- Proven experience installing, servicing, and repairing industrial overhead doors — required
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with industrial equipment, motors, gearboxes, chains, conveyors, and mechanical systems




- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
- Basic electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Valuable communication and customer service skills
- A professional attitude and strong attention to detail
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel throughout the Lower Mainland and surrounding areas
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 emergency service rotation
- Willingness to learn and become proficient in car wash equipment and systems

Experience With the Following Is an Asset

- Commercial or industrial overhead door systems
- Automatic door operators and controls
- Car wash equipment and systems
- Electrical troubleshooting
- Hydraulics and pneumatics
- Estimating, quoting, or selling equipment and service work
