Position Summary

Painters at On Side are important team members who help restore damaged personal and commercial property, anywhere and anytime disaster strikes. Painters add colour to clients dreams with fresh, clean surfaces in the perfect shade.

Compensation

- Salary Range: $26-$33 /hour

What You’ll Do

- Painter & Finishing Specialist: Prepare, repair, and paint residential and commercial surfaces (brush, roller, and spray). Flawlessly match existing colors and textures so repairs look untouched.
- Restoration Prep & Repair: Review scopes, estimate materials, strip old coatings, fill holes/cracks, and perform drywall mudding and taping.
- Cross-Functional Team Player: Assist with general labor, demolition, and equipment setup as business needs require.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in regular on-call shifts to respond to emergency restoration calls and field tasks.

What You Bring

- Experience: ~3 years of residential or commercial painting and drywall repair experience.
- Work Ethic: Highly reliable and self-motivated when working independently, but eager to pitch in with a team.
- Flexibility & Physical Drive: Comfortable wearing multiple hats—from high-detail painting to heavy labor, demo, and job site cleanup.
- Safety & Mindset: Strong attention to detail, pride in seamless work,



and a safety-first mindset.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license, clean criminal record, and explicit English communication skills. (WHMIS and First Aid certifications are a strong plus).

- Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

- This role often involves working in homes while homeowners are often present. How do you ensure the work area remains clean, organized, and respectful of their space?
- In restoration we primarily work on the damaged portion of the wall, 90% of your drywall repairs and painting will be at baseboard or ceiling height. Are you comfortable and able to work for extended periods at these heights?

Experience:
- Brush and Roller Painting: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- Canadian Driver's License (preferred)
