Role Description The Payroll Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Edmonton, AB. This position is responsible for processing bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining payroll records, handling new hires, terminations, and changes, managing deductions, garnishments, and employee benefits, and reconciling payroll-related accounts.

The Payroll

Administrator will calculate and remit payroll taxes, prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies, and respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely and qualified manner.



The role also involves collaborating with accounting and HR teams to support budgeting, audits, and continuous improvement of payroll processes.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Payroll Administration, including end-to-end payroll processing and record maintenance.
- Knowledge and experience with Garnishments and related payroll deductions and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Payroll Taxes, including calculations, remittances, and reporting to government agencies.
- Experience managing Employee Benefits within payroll systems, including enrollments, changes, and reconciliations.
- Solid Accounting skills to support payroll reconciliations, journal entries, and collaboration with finance.
- Familiarity with Canadian payroll legislation and standards, particularly for Alberta.
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to respond to employee questions and work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with payroll software and MS Office (especially Excel).
- Diploma or certification in Payroll, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; PCP or equivalent designation is an asset.
- Experience working in social services or non-profit environments is an advantage.
