We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our community pharmacy in Saskatoon. We are a small locally owned independent pharmacy serving the community and surrounding area of Saskatoon. The successful candidate will play an key role in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy and front store departments.
In this role, you will support the pharmacists in providing exceptional patient care and customer service. You will be responsible for assisting with prescription preparation, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will also be responsible for front store/ OTC area operations, including stocking shelves, running the cash register and general housekeeping duties.
We are closed, evenings, Sundays and all Statutory holidays. Saturdays we are opened shortened hours offering an excellent home life work balance.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns.
- Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, and restocking medications and supplies for both the pharmacy and front store.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations and safety protocols.
- Support the pharmacy team in daily operations, including cleaning and organizing the workspace.
- Ring up patient’s prescriptions and front store purchased up at the cash register
- Follow store policies on lottery ticket handling and sales
Requirements
- 2 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a community pharmacy in Saskatchewan.
- Formal Pharmacy Assistant training is considered an asset
- Experience working with Kroll computer software in a community pharmacy
- Comfortable using point-of-sale (till) systems in a rapid-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively assist patients, process prescriptions, and communicate with the pharmacy team.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team environment.
- Must be able to pass any required background checks or screenings as mandated by the employer.
- Must be available for scheduling Monday to Saturday during business hours.
