Experienced Pipe Layer – Water, Sewer & Storm

Riverstone Excavation & Underground Ltd. is looking for an experienced Pipe Layer to join our growing excavation and civil construction team.

Experienced subcontractors are also welcome to apply.

We are looking for someone with real hands-on experience installing underground water, sanitary sewer and storm systems. This is not an entry-level position. You must understand pipe installation, grades, elevations and how to work efficiently alongside an excavator operator.

Requirements

- Previous pipe laying experience is required
- Experience installing watermain, sanitary sewer and storm systems
- Experience installing water and sewer services
- Experience with PVC, HDPE and concrete pipe
- Experience installing manholes and catch basins
- Experience with hydrants, valves, fittings and service connections
- Strong experience using pipe lasers, rotary lasers and laser levels
- Must understand grades, elevations, inverts and slopes
- Able to set up and check laser elevations independently
- Able to read construction drawings and site plans
- Knowledge of proper pipe bedding, clear stone, granular backfill and compaction
- Understand trench safety, trench boxes and safe excavation procedures
- Able to work efficiently with excavator operators and keep production moving
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable using construction tools
- Must be hardworking,



dependable and punctual
- Must have own reliable transportation to and from work
- Equipment operating experience is an asset
- Must be a team player and take pride in quality workmanship

What We're Looking For We want someone who knows underground pipe work and can get the job done properly. You should be comfortable setting up a pipe laser, checking elevations and inverts, maintaining grade and working with the operator to install pipe accurately and efficiently.
