MyLearningCoach is a team of educational professionals providing virtual, individualized support to post-secondary students across Canada. The organization specializes in assisting students who experience learning barriers related to disabilities or medical conditions, including ADHD, mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and neurological differences. Services range from academic coaching, tutoring, assistive technology consultation, and accessibility advising to counselling and specialized assessments.

Many students receive support through the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Disabilities, and MyLearningCoach actively assists them in accessing this funding. The mission is to ensure equitable access to education by removing barriers and empowering students to reach their full academic potential.

The Post-Secondary Accessibility Coordinator is a full-time remote role focused on supporting students in navigating accessibility services and academic accommodations. Day-to-day responsibilities include meeting virtually with students to assess needs and coordinating support services. The coordinator will help students understand and access disability-related grants and funding, including the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Disabilities.

This role also involves collaborating with internal team members and external partners,

maintaining accurate documentation, and monitoring student progress to adjust support plans as needed. The coordinator is expected to uphold trauma-informed, inclusive, and student-centred practices in all interactions.

Qualifications

- Accessibility and disability support skills, including knowledge of post-secondary accommodation processes, assistive technologies, and disability-related funding (e.g., CSG-DSE).
- Student support and coaching skills, such as academic strategy instruction, executive functioning support, and familiarity with common learning barriers (e.g., ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities).
- Communication and collaboration skills, including transparent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build rapport in a virtual environment.
- Organizational and case management skills, including maintaining detailed records, managing caseloads, and prioritizing tasks in a remote setting.
- Proficiency with online platforms and tools used for virtual meetings, documentation, and educational support.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, social work, rehabilitation, or a related field; relevant graduate training or professional certification in accessibility or disability services.
- Experience in post-secondary education settings or disability services is required.
