The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, manual press brake equipment to bend, form, and fabricate metal components according to engineering drawings and production requirements. This role ensures parts are manufactured accurately, safely, and efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Report to work on time daily with a positive attitude and optimistic outlook.
- Comply with all company rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Wear and respect the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and company issued uniforms at all times when on company grounds (yard and shop).
- Set up and operate manual press brake machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Select proper tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job.
- Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications and
- tolerances.
- Perform first-piece and in-process quality inspections.
- Safely handle and move materials using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other lifting
- equipment as required.
- Maintain production records and report quality or equipment issues.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality Control, and Production teams to meet delivery schedules.
- Responsible for the quality of their own work.
- Communicate safety concerns to shop management.
- Communicate ideas for safety and process improvements to shop management.
- All other tasks as assigned by the Production Manager or Raptor management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Previous experience operating press brake equipment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures, protractors, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is required.
- Basic computer skills and CNC programming experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across teams and document technical information clearly.
