Job Summary
We are on the lookout for an energetic and detail-oriented Production Manager to lead our food processing operations. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. Responsibilities
Planning and Scheduling Production: plan and allocate resources such as staff, equipment, and facilities, and monitor progress to ensure production targets are achieved efficiently and on time
Supervising Staff: Hire, train, and motivate production personnel, assigning roles based on competence and workload. Ensure that staff follow safety protocols and maintain high productivity levels
Quality Control and Compliance: Enforce quality standards and food safety regulations, collaborating with the quality assurance team to ensure products meet company and legal requirements. Monitor production processes, inspect equipment, and implement corrective actions when necessary
Operational Management: Oversee the preparation, processing, packaging, and distribution of food products. Managers maintain equipment, optimize workflows, and implement cost-effective solutions to reduce waste and improve efficiency
Coordination with Other Departments: Liaise with purchasing, inventory, sales, and marketing, to align production with sales, develop recent products, and ensure timely procurement of raw materials
Strategic Planning and Reporting: Analyze production metrics, forecast potential risks,
and provide recommendations to senior management for improving product quality, operational efficiency, and revenue generation. Periodic reports on production performance are prepared to inform decision-making
Health and Safety Oversight: Ensure a safe working environment. Implement and enforce health and safety procedures, monitor compliance, and address hazards in the production facility
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Several years of progressive experience in a food processing plant with slaughter
- Post-secondary education and professional qualifications to compliment work experience
- Teaching and coaching strategies for a diverse workforce
- Problem solving and critical thinking
- Energetic and excellent time management skills
- ERP software and MS Office experience
Requirements
- Proven experience in food processing or manufacturing environments with a focus on process improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and oversee maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of quality control standards relevant to food processing industries.
- Ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on supply chain coordination and process optimization.
- Prior experience with assembly processes within a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
Join us as a Production Manager where your expertise will drive operational excellence in food processing while supporting a collaborative team dedicated to quality and innovation! Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
