Position Summary:

Recreation Program Instructors will deliver high-quality recreation programs for a variety of ages which may include children, youth, adults and older adults. Program areas may include arts & crafts, games, sports, dance, general interest, wellness, etc.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and deliver recreation programs for a variety of age groups which may include children, youth, adults and older adults

- Ensure safety of participants while taking part in programs

- Provides an inclusive, welcoming, safe environment, and excellent customer service.

- Prepare and maintain documentation including attendance, incident reports,



and other administrative duties as required.

- Respond to incidents and emergencies by following established procedures and administering first aid when required.

- Maintain skilled and positive relationships with participants, staff, and the public as representatives of the City of Niagara Falls.

- Maintains good relations with staff and public at all times as a City of Niagara Falls representative.

- Attend and participate in meetings and training sessions.

- Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

- Must be 16 years of age

- Experience leading programs in a recreation environment

- Skills and knowledge in a program area such as arts & crafts, games, sports, dance etc.

- Strong Customer Service, communication and interpersonal skills.

- Police Clearance Vulnerable Sector Check

- Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C and High Five’s Principles of Healthy Child Development are assets
