Reporting to a Product Owner (PO), the QA Analyst ensures that software products are delivered as reliable and secure solutions to business problems and are aligned with business and legislative requirements. The role leads and strengthens quality assurance within the Agile product team by making extensive use of tools to automate test planning and execution, managing defects, reporting results, supporting establishment and use of standards and tools, and promoting continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Defines "Definition of Done" (DoD) and Acceptance Criteria: Collaborates with the Product Owner to write testable user story acceptance criteria to ensure all team deliverables meet the agreed-upon criteria and DoD.

with focus on automation of API layers and critical user workflows to expedite quality validation.
- Integrates Automation into CI/CD Pipelines: Embeds automated tests directly into the team's build pipelines that trigger smoke and regression test suites on code commits to give developers instant feedback.
- Continuous Test Maintenance and Refactoring: Updates automated scripts to keep pace with changing UI/UX elements and backend APIs.
- Conducts Exploratory and/or Edge-Case Manual Testing: Performs targeted, manual exploratory testing to uncover complex defects that automated test scripts cannot easily replicate.
- Defect Triaging and Agile Lifecycle Management: Logs and tracks product defects using Azure DevOps Services and collaborates with developers during daily stand-ups to investigate, fix, and verify defects quickly.
- Manages Test Data: Provisions and maintains realistic datasets needed for automated and manual test execution. This may involve use of virtualization tools to mock unavailable third-party APIs so testing is not blocked.
- Shifts Quality Left and Supports Team Upskilling: Advocates for a whole-team quality mindset by helping developers write stronger unit tests. Opens the automation repository to the entire Agile team so code ownership is shared.
- Participates in SAFe Ceremonies: Identifies cross-team dependencies and estimates testing efforts during Planning Interval (PI) Planning. Contributes quality metrics and feedback during daily stand-ups and sprint retrospectives. Helps prepare working software for integrated System Demos at the end of each iteration.
