Position Summary

As a Quality Assurance Analyst, you will participate in the planning, preparation, and execution of testing for in-house applications, integrations, and vendor/SaaS solutions. The role will focus heavily on SIT and test automation, including writing and maintaining automated tests using Playwright.

This position will initially support our AlayaCare implementation, with a strong focus on testing AlayaCare functionality, integrations, data flows, and end-to-end business processes.

Duration: 18-month contract

Responsibilities

Software Testing

- Plan, prepare, and execute testing across different phases of the SDLC.
- Perform SIT across applications and integrations, including interfaces, APIs, and data flows.
- Review business requirements, technical specifications, integration designs, and acceptance criteria to determine test coverage.
- Create test plans, scenarios, test cases, scripts, and expected results for functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and automated testing.
- Write test cases that cover positive, negative, integration, error handling, and failure scenarios.
- Write, execute, debug, and maintain automated tests using Playwright, Selenium, or similar automation tools. Playwright is the primary automation tool used by the QA team.
- Build and maintain automated regression tests.
- Validate integrations between systems, including data mappings, transformations, interface processing, error handling, logging, and notifications.
- Use SQL to validate backend data, integration results, and data integrity.
- Investigate application, integration, and data defects and work with engineering teams, vendors, and other technical teams through resolution.
- Document defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected and actual results, severity, and supporting evidence.
- Prepare and maintain test data required for manual and automated testing.
- Log and track test execution, defects, and supporting evidence using the appropriate QA tools.
- Communicate test progress, defects, risks, blockers, and dependencies to project teams and stakeholders.
- Support UAT where required, including test preparation, defect management, and coordination with business participants.
- Confirm that solutions meet business, functional, technical, and integration requirements before QA sign-off.
- Write reusable and maintainable automated tests and contribute to the maintenance of automated regression suites.
- Support automated test execution through CI/CD pipelines.

Quality Assurance Operations

- Contribute to the maintenance of the QA team's Playwright automation framework.
- Use JIRA, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, or similar tools for test management, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Participate in defect triage and work with technical teams to investigate and resolve issues.

Planning

- Participate in estimating and planning QA activities, including SIT, regression, automation, and release testing.
- Identify testing dependencies, risks, environment requirements, and test data needs that may impact testing or delivery timelines.
- Provide input into testing scope and priorities based on requirements, change impact, and risk.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or another technically relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on software QA experience.
- Hands-on experience writing, executing, debugging, and maintaining automated tests using Playwright, Selenium, or similar automation tools. Playwright experience is preferred.
- Strong experience with SIT across applications, interfaces, APIs, integrations, and data flows.
- Experience reviewing business and technical requirements and translating them into test scenarios and test cases.
- Strong understanding of software testing practices, defect management, and the SDLC.
- Hands-on experience with functional, integration, E2E, and regression testing.
- Experience validating integrations and data across multiple systems, including mappings, transformations, error handling, and downstream impacts.
- Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to query and validate backend data.
- Ability to investigate application, integration, and data issues and work with technical teams to troubleshoot defects.
- Experience with programming or scripting concepts used in test automation.
- Experience using Git or another source control platform.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
- Experience working in Agile or other structured software delivery environments.
- Experience testing AlayaCare implementations, releases, or integrations is strongly preferred.
- Experience with API testing is an asset.
- Healthcare industry experience is an asset but not required.

Position Summary

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be responsible for hands-on test automation and testing across in-house applications, integrations, and vendor/SaaS solutions. The role will focus heavily on Playwright and TypeScript, including automation framework development and maintenance, automated regression testing, SIT, and integration testing.

Responsibilities

Software Testing and Automation

- Write, execute, debug, and maintain automated tests using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Build and maintain the Playwright automation framework, including reusable components, fixtures, configuration, test data, and reporting.
- Build and maintain automated regression suites across applications and integrations.
- Troubleshoot automation failures across test code, applications, environments, integrations, and test data.
- Integrate and execute automated tests through CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot pipeline failures.
- Use Git for source control, branching, pull requests, and automation code management.
- Perform SIT across applications and integrations, including interfaces, APIs, and data flows.
- Test APIs and validate integrations, including requests and responses, data mappings, transformations, error handling, logging, and downstream impacts.
- Use SQL to query and validate backend data, integration results, and data integrity.
- Review business and technical requirements, integration designs, and acceptance criteria and translate them into test coverage.
- Plan and execute functional, integration, E2E, regression, and automated testing.
- Investigate complex application, integration, automation, and data defects and work with technical teams and vendors through resolution.
- Prepare and maintain test data for manual and automated testing.
- Document and track defects, test results, risks, and supporting evidence using the appropriate QA tools.
- Support UAT and release testing where required.

Quality Assurance Operations

- Maintain common automation components and coding practices across the QA automation framework.
- Review automation code and provide technical guidance to QA team members where required

Planning

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or another technically relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 6+ years of hands-on software QA experience, with strong experience in test automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript, including writing, debugging, and maintaining automated tests.
- Strong experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks, including reusable components, fixtures, configuration, test data handling, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of TypeScript/JavaScript, including asynchronous programming, functions, classes, modules, and error handling.
- Strong experience with Git, including branching, pull requests, merges, and working within shared automation repositories.
- Hands-on experience integrating and running automated tests through CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong experience with API and integration testing, including validating requests, responses, data flows, and error handling.
- Strong experience with SIT across multiple applications and integrations.
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying backend data for validation and troubleshooting.
- Experience designing and maintaining automated regression suites and managing test data for automation.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across automation code, applications, integrations, environments, and data.
- Hands-on experience with functional, integration, E2E, and regression testing.
- Experience with Selenium or other automation frameworks is an asset.
- Experience testing AlayaCare implementations, releases, or integrations is an asset.
- Healthcare industry experience is an asset but not required.
