Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our manufacturing team, initially on a part-time basis with excellent opportunities for full-time and personal growth toward a leadership position. This role is ideal for self starting individuals passionate about maintaining high standards of quality and food safety in production processes and wanting to follow a path within the QA field. As a member of our team, you will be tasked with all facets of Quality Assurance and will play an important role in ensuring our products consistently meet our high standards for food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Conducting in-process quality checks, including temperatures, product weights, batch coding, metal detection, packaging verification, and other production monitoring.
- Performing and/or reviewing pre-operational inspections, sanitation verification, and environmental monitoring activities, including proper completion of documentation.
- Verifying ingredient labels, lot codes, and supplier documentation during receiving.
- Recording, organizing, maintaining and have general oversight of all documentation required for HACCP, GMP, SFCR, and CFIA compliance.
- Preparing and performing internal audits and maintaining QA records.
- Participating in shelf-life testing and product retention programs.
- Identifying non-conformances and assisting with corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Working closely with production staff to promote a strong food safety and quality culture, including ongoing training as required.
Requirements
- Previous education or experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Food Science, or a related field.
- A strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, SFCR food safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Self starting and self directed attitude.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- The ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
The following would be considered assets:
- Previous Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP or food manufacturing software systems.
- Internal auditing and/or food safety certification experience.

Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
