Railway Car Technician - 268R Apprenticeship Rail Mechanical Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) is an Agency of the Province of Ontario that provides efficient and vital transportation services. Railway Car
Technicians inspect, maintain, repair, and remanufacture railway passenger cars, freight cars and their components. Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs and tests rail car equipment Performs preventative maintenance work Uses hand tools and various testing devices and instruments Operates equipment such as overhead or mobile cranes and forklifts to assist with assignments Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment May work various shifts and on weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather Applicants will undergo the following evaluation tests which will be marked separately.
30% Hands on Apparatus test; 30% Interview by Joint Apprenticeship Committee (JAC) Available for shift work The successful candidate will need to pass the following clearances: criminal record check, employment references and education verification.
