RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS PROGRAM MANAGER

Located in the heart of the city, Vancouver Phoenix Gymnastics is one of Canada’s largest and most successful clubs with two operating facilities. Home to the best climate in the country, Vancouver is a world-class, internationally-recognized city, perfect for those who love experiences and the outdoors.

Gymnastics has a strong recreational program inclusive to ages 0-100, while also consistently producing some of Canada’s top gymnasts, many of whom represent the club and province and have become National Team members representing Canada at international competitions.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Gymnastics For All (GFA) team as a Recreational Program Manager. Our ideal candidate has a strong background in gymnastics and leadership, and is committed to providing fun, safe, and high quality programs for all ages and skill levels.

This role will report to the Director of High Performance Programs, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the GFA program in both of our gym facilities. This includes developing and implementing annual and sessional plans, curriculum and lesson plans, managing and training coaches, creating and coordinating sessional class and staff schedules, ensuring Protected Sport and safety protocols are followed, and maintaining positive connections with participants and their families in our community.

Areas of Responsibility





Program Development and Delivery

- Develop and implement an annual program and curriculum for all sessions and camps
- Plan and create rotation schedules for both locations
- Plan and coordinate special events and activities to provide ongoing community and member experiences
- Conduct ongoing analysis to ensure all programming is age and level appropriate
- Design long term plans for program development and success within the direction of the Strategic Plan
- Work alongside the Executive and Technical Director to develop annual budgets, and manage the GFA program budget
- Produce reports and manage data for program analysis
- Provide staff and member communications as needed regarding program updates and initiatives
- Actively coach in the GFA program

Staff Management

- Oversee and mentor our team of 30+ GFA Lead coaches, coaches, and coaches in training
- Support the professional development of coaches through organizing staff trainings and coaching clinics
- Mentor new coaches on the creation and implementation of lesson plans
- Complete sessional checks ins and annual performance evaluations
- Develop and manage a subbing system for the GFA program
- Review and approve bi-weekly time cards and time off requests in ADP for payroll





Safe Sport Compliance

- Ensure all operations and coaches follow Safe Sport principles
- Implement and enforce safety protocols to ensure the safety of participants and coaches
- Oversee the use and maintenance of equipment and ensure a clean and safe environment
- Oversee and address all concerns, inquiries, and feedback from participants and their families

Preferred Qualifications

- National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) Gymnastics L1/Gymnastics Foundations Certified minimum or equivalent
- Completion of NCCP Active Start and Trampoline Certification
- Completion of the NCCP Courses: Respect In Sport, Make Ethical Decision, SafeSport, Mental Health In Sport
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search is required for 19+
- Valid First Aid certification
- 2+ years supervisory experience in recreational gymnastics or related field
- Have a passion for physical literacy and the development of children
- Training in recreation management, leadership, teaching qualifications or like education is considered but not necessary

Job Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive salary and Benefits that are commensurate with experience
