Objectives:
Perform professional, personalized massage therapy to regular clients/patients in a secure and healthy manner
Education
Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
Credentials
Must be a registered member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and remain current and in good standing.
Skills
Perform various types of massage therapy that include, but are not limited to, therapeutic, sports, deep tissue, relaxation, pregnancy and hot stone.
Perform massages in varying time increments that include: 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes and 90 minutes.
Complete clinical interviews and comprehensive initial assessment and reassessment: assess client’s soft tissue condition, joint quality and function, muscle strength and range of motion.
Generate assessment reports such as OFC 18.
Provide massage treatment options specific to each client’s condition to optimize progress in rehabilitation.
Use complementary aids, such as wet compresses, ice and heat packs in order to promote the client’s fast recovery, relaxation and well-being.
Prescribe exercises such as stretching, strengthening and self-care treatments
Provide education to the client about his/her condition as well as the family members (if applicable)
Refer clients to other types of therapists when necessary
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $300.00-$450.00 per day
Expected hours: 10.0 per week
