Parslow Heritage Consultancy is hiring a Report Writer to produce high-quality reports and proposals, analyze artifacts, and assist with the coordination of archaeological projects. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented problem solver, with previous field experience. Your work will directly contribute to the understanding and interpretation of archaeological sites, providing invaluable insights into our past.

As a Report Writer you will have the following responsibilities:

● Focus on the analysis and interpretation of data within a professional cultural resource management setting

● Prepare detailed reports through comprehensive archaeological research and write assigned sections to support project documentation

● Review, write, and prepare Stage 1 through Stage 4 Archaeological Assessment reports in strict accordance with provincial standards

● Contribute to the writing and development of sections for project proposals

● Maintain high ethical and professional standards to uphold PHC Inc.’s reputation and company culture

● Ensure reports are completed with the highest attention to detail and delivered within the specified timeline

● Conduct thorough analyses of key artifacts, contributing to the overall understanding of archaeological sites and findings

● Assist in the implementation and coordination of archaeology projects with an emphasis on collecting data and processing





● Evaluate report feedback from regulatory bodies to identify areas for improvement and implement recommendations

Skills and Qualifications:

● A degree in Archaeology or Anthropology or an undergraduate degree with equivalent experience

● 2 to 5 years of experience completing archaeological reports in compliance with the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM) standards

● Previous experience working in the field as as a Field Director or similar

● Valid Research or Professional class license issued by the Ontario MCM

● Familiarity with the MCM's archaeology and heritage online portal (Past Portal)

● Firm understanding of the MCM's Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists

● Experience preparing and implementing field health and safety materials

● Demonstrated understanding of the pre-contact and historic artifacts found in Ontario

● Knowledge of Sharepoint, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat

● Demonstrated experience in GIS (ArcPro) is an asset
