Specific Accountabilities

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Specialist is specifically accountable for:

Core Research Activities

- Network with community and research organizations on local, provincial, and national levels to investigate and collaborate on issues of mutual benefit.
- Represent the Prevention Institute on interagency committees dealing with prevention initiatives on a provincial or national level, as required.
- Provide support for the operationalization, implementation, and reporting of strategic plan activities.

Review of Research and Evidence

- Conduct research activities, such as completing evidence summaries, literature reviews, and environmental scans.
- Review current evidence in program areas (i.e., FASD Prevention) and ensure up-to-date best evidence and promising practices are reflected in the program, trainings, and resources.




- Collaborate with Institute staff and external stakeholders to ensure emerging and persistent needs related to child health in Saskatchewan are identified and researched.

Program and Project Evaluation

- Conduct the completion of evaluation activities, such as needs assessments, surveys, interviews, and focus testing.

Knowledge Translation and Exchange

- Support consultation with diverse stakeholders to identify educational, resource, and training needs.
- Support and promote the involvement of external experts and target audience members in the review of resources and other materials.
- Participate in the quality assurance process to ensure research and evidence is appropriately translated and presented to the target audience.
- Contribute to the development and submission of funding proposals.
- Bring forward recent trends and areas of focus that fit within the Institutes mandate.
