Position Overview The Ministry is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong enterprise application development experience across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

The successful candidate will translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications, develop detailed programming specifications, write and maintain code, perform unit testing, and troubleshoot technical issues throughout implementation, conversion, and migration activities.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

- Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications.
- Develop detailed programming specifications.
- Write and/or generate application code.
- Compile and maintain data-driven programs.
- Conduct comprehensive unit testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues arising during software implementation and operation.
- Provide technical assistance for implementation, conversion, and migration activities.

- Work with middleware, gateways, and communication protocols.
- Develop and integrate WSDL, REST APIs, and web services.

- Support data migration, transformation, and validation activities.

Content Management
- Work with OpenText Content Management System APIs.
- Maintain and validate metadata accuracy and integrity.
- Support content management system integration and application development.

- Develop applications and documents that comply with AODA requirements.
- Apply accessibility best practices to user interfaces and PDFs.
- Familiarity with Ontario Government IT standards, including GO-ITS 54.
- Apply industry standards and best practices for web development, architecture, security, and accessibility.
