About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator with a strong background in concrete formwork, crane operations, and rigging. This role supports field crews, ensures compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, and maintains COR‑aligned safety systems across multiple active sites. The ideal candidate has hands‑on construction experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead safety culture through coaching, inspections, and proactive hazard control.Key Responsibilities
- Site safety leadership — Provide daily safety support to crews working in formwork, crane operations, and rigging environments.
- Field inspections — Conduct regular site inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
- Rigging & crane compliance — Verify rigging practices, crane setup, lift planning, and operator/rigger competency.
- Formwork safety oversight — Review shoring, decking, rebar placement, and fall‑protection controls.
- Documentation & reporting — Maintain FLHAs, toolbox talks, incident reports, and inspection logs.
- Training & coaching — Support worker onboarding, competency verification, and ongoing safety education.
- COR program support — Assist with audits, evidence collection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Incident response — Participate in investigations,
root‑cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 3–5+ years' experience in construction safety, preferably in concrete formwork and crane operations
- Strong understanding of WorkSafeBC OHSR, Part 11, Part 14, and Part 15
- Hands‑on experience with rigging, crane operations, or formwork systems
- Ability to identify hazards and implement practical, field‑ready solutions
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites
- Strong documentation and reporting skills
Preferred Assets
- OFA Level 2 or 3
- NCSO
- Fall Protection, Rigging, or Crane‑related certifications
- Experience supporting COR or similar safety management systems
- Knowledge of digital safety platforms (e.g., Connecteam, Jobtread, etc)
