Located at the head of Lake Ontario and within the municipalities of Burlington and Hamilton, Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) is the largest botanical garden in Canada and one of the nation’s earliest nature sanctuaries. The Position:

We seek a Part time Sales Associate to work in our Gift Shop and be responsible for creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere with prompt courteous customer service. Must be available to work evening, weekday, and weekend shifts. (Please note that this opportunity will not lead to a full-time role).

Start Date: October 19, 2026

End Date: April 16, 2027

Under the direction of the Gift Shop Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers with purchases, answering questions, offering suggestions





Responsibilities:

- Customer service, handling any problems that may arise
- Receiving new inventory
- Filing paperwork, keeping track of receipts
- Dealing with transactions involving cash, debit, and credit
- Assisting with opening and closing the store
- Store maintenance and upkeep

Requirements:

- Previous sales and customer service experience.
- Able to learn quickly and multitask
- Works well in a group environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel while being able to adapt to new programs quickly
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, during Christmas season, and statutory holidays

Physical Requirements:

- Constant standing and walking
- Able to climb stairs and ladders
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
