About Reid’s Distillery
Reid’s Distillery is an independent, family-owned Toronto distillery producing award-winning spirits, ready-to-drink beverages, cocktails and non-alcoholic products.
As we continue to grow our retail business, we are looking for a smart, driven and highly organized Sales Development Associate to work directly with our leadership team and help expand Reid’s distribution across Ontario.
The primary focus of this role will be grocery and convenience retail, with additional exposure to the LCBO, beverage alcohol agencies, restaurants, bars and other licensed accounts.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to learn how consumer products get sold into major retailers and develop hands-on experience in business development, account management and CPG sales.
The Role
Your primary responsibility will be to support Reid’s in its sales efforts.
You will work closely with senior members of the Reid’s team to identify sales opportunities, research retailers and buyers, conduct outreach, organize meetings, prepare sales materials and ensure opportunities are consistently followed through.
You will not be expected to come into the role already knowing every retailer, buyer or sales process. We are looking for someone who is highly capable, curious, comfortable with technology and willing to learn quickly.
The successful candidate should enjoy both the research and organization behind a sale and the outbound work required to create new opportunities.
What You’ll DoGrocery & Convenience Business Development
- Research grocery, convenience, gas, specialty retail and other potential accounts.
- Identify the appropriate buyers, category managers, merchants and decision-makers.
- Conduct outbound prospecting by email, phone, LinkedIn and other channels.
- Introduce Reid’s products and secure meetings with prospective customers.
- Maintain a structured pipeline of prospective retailers and opportunities.
- Follow up persistently and professionally until opportunities move forward or are closed.
- Help identify new banners, distributors, wholesalers and retail groups Reid’s should pursue.
- Support new-product listing opportunities and retailer category-review processes.
Support Major Retail Opportunities Work directly with Reid’s senior leadership to help develop and close larger opportunities.
This may include
- Preparing account and buyer research before meetings.
- Creating meeting briefs and recommended talking points.
- Preparing pricing, product information and retailer presentations.
- Coordinating samples and product submissions.
- Completing retailer forms and new-vendor documentation.
- Tracking outstanding questions, commitments and deadlines.
- Preparing follow-up communication after meetings.
- Making sure every opportunity has a clear next step.
- Following up internally with Reid’s leadership when action is required.
A major part of your role will be helping ensure the right opportunities are consistently placed in front of senior leadership and then actively moved forward. LCBO, Agency Store & Licensee Support
While grocery and convenience will be the primary focus, you will also support Reid’s broader beverage-alcohol sales activities.
This may include
- Supporting LCBO sales programs and product listings.
- Reviewing store-level sales and inventory information.
- Identifying stores or regions where distribution can be improved.
- Supporting agency and distributor relationships.
- Prospecting restaurants, bars, hotels, golf courses and other licensed establishments.
- Coordinating samples, sales materials and follow-up.
- Helping maintain account and opportunity information.
Sales Intelligence & Technology We are building a highly technology-enabled sales organization and want someone who is comfortable using modern tools.
You will use CRM systems, AI tools, sales data and internal technology to help:
- Prioritize the best accounts to contact.
- Research retailers and buyers.
- Identify distribution opportunities.
- Prepare personalized outreach.
- Build account briefs before meetings.
- Draft follow-up communication.
- Analyze store and account performance.
- Track sales activity and pipeline progress.
- Identify opportunities that may otherwise be missed.
You do not need to be a programmer or AI expert. You do need to be comfortable learning new technology and using it every day to become a more effective salesperson.
What We’re Looking For
We are primarily looking for intelligence, drive and potential rather than extensive industry experience.
You may be a robust fit if you are:
- Early in your career and interested in sales, business development or consumer products.
- Comfortable reaching out to people you have never met.
- Persistent and willing to follow up.
- Highly organized and able to manage many opportunities at once.
- Strong at online research and finding information.
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets, CRM systems and modern technology.
- Curious about why certain products, retailers and markets perform better than others.
- A strong written and verbal communicator.
- Able to work independently while also taking substantial direction and feedback.
- Comfortable working closely with company ownership and senior leadership.
- Motivated by seeing your work directly result in new customers and new stores.

- Sales or business development
- Consumer packaged goods (CPG)
- Food or beverage
- Retail operations
- Hospitality
- Account coordination
- Customer service
- Sales administration
- Lead generation or outbound prospecting
Alcohol-industry experience is not required but is an asset. Experience selling soda, food, snacks, energy drinks, consumer products, non-alcoholic beverages or other retail products can be equally relevant.
