Position Overview The Customer Sales Executive is a key revenue-driving role responsible for acquiring, developing, and managing a portfolio of customers to support freight growth across North America. This position blends business development, relationship management, strategic pricing, and operational coordination in a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment.
The ideal candidate is competitive, results-driven, and thrives in a high-performance sales setting. They are motivated by revenue growth, margin expansion, and building long-term customer partnerships while ensuring service excellence.
Experience in asset-based trucking environments is required, along with a demonstrated book of business across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, enabling immediate contribution to cross-border and domestic revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Customer Acquisition
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to acquire recent customers and grow market share.
- Leverage an existing book of business across U.S., Mexico, and Canadian markets to drive immediate revenue opportunities.
- Identify and target key industries, shippers, and supply chain decision-makers across North America.
- Build a strong sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry engagement.
- Conduct sales presentations, negotiate contracts, and close new business opportunities.
Account Management & Customer Relationships
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers, acting as a trusted logistics partner.
- Understand customer supply chain needs and provide tailored transportation solutions, including asset-based and brokerage offerings.
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and growth.
- Identify opportunities to expand services,
increase shipment volume, and deepen customer engagement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring clear communication and service alignment.
Operations & Execution Collaboration
- Partner closely with carrier sales and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of customer freight.
- Provide accurate shipment details, forecasts, and expectations to internal teams.
- Support execution across domestic and cross-border lanes (U.S./Mexico/Canada), ensuring service reliability.
- Proactively address service challenges and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain accountability for customer experience from onboarding through delivery performance.
Sales Strategy, Pricing & Profitability
- Develop pricing strategies that balance competitiveness, service quality, and margin goals.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with customers while protecting profitability.
- Monitor market trends, capacity conditions, and cross-border dynamics to inform pricing and sales strategy.
- Drive revenue growth, gross margin performance, and shipment volume targets.
- Identify and capitalize on opportunities within asset-based capacity and dedicated solutions.
Technology, Data & Administration
- Utilize the Transportation Management System (TMS – Citrix) and CRM tools to manage accounts, track opportunities, and monitor performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, contracts, pricing, and shipment activity.
- Analyze sales data, lane performance, and customer trends to identify growth opportunities.
- Support continuous improvement through disciplined data management and adherence to sales processes.

Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales, or transportation account management
- Demonstrated book of business with active customer relationships across the United States, Mexico, and Canada
- Experience working with or selling asset-based trucking solutions strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of North American transportation markets and cross-border logistics
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to prospect, close deals, and grow accounts in a competitive environment
- Strong business acumen with a focus on revenue and margin performance
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform under tight deadlines
- High sense of urgency with strong follow-through and accountability
- Familiarity with TMS (Citrix experience an asset) and CRM platforms
- Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
