Who we are?
The Primary Construction Team consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).
What is the project?
The Ontario Line (“OL”) is a fully integrated, stand-alone, rapid transit system that connects Ontario Science Centre to the Exhibition and Ontario Place grounds.
The Northern
Civil, Stations and Tunnel (“NC”) project consist of approximately 7 kms of underground subway and elevated guideway, with stations along the segment providing connections to surface bus and streetcar routes. The NC project has been divided into two main progressive design-build contracts: (1) the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) and the Pape Tunnel and Underground Station Contract (“PTUS”), with supporting Early Works.
What is the Opportunity?
The Scheduler will support the the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).
Responsibilities:
Schedule Development
- Develop and maintain the project schedule using Primavera P6, ensuring that all design, procurement, permits, and construction activities are included.
- Ensure all project dependencies, milestones, and timelines are accurately captured in the schedule.
- Help in the creation of the project baseline schedule, ensuring it aligns with project milestones and owner requirements.
Schedule Updating,
Monitoring and Control
- Regularly update the project schedule to reflect actual progress, ensuring that changes are accurately captured.
- Review 3WLA schedule with the construction team and make necessary adjustment
- Track critical path activities and notify the project team of any potential delays or issues that could impact the schedule.
- Prepare weekly and monthly schedule reports, providing updates on milestones, forecasted completion dates, and identifying any potential risks.
- Assist in the development of progress reports, including basic performance metrics, to track project status.
- Support the creation of recovery schedules when delays are identified, working with the team to suggest corrective actions.
- Assist with identifying and analyzing schedule variances, helping the team understand the causes of slippage and recommending basic solutions.
- Help assess and incorporate schedule changes resulting from design revisions, scope modifications, or unforeseen delays.
- Assist in supporting contingency planning by developing simple “what-if” scenarios for activities on the critical path.
- Create micro schedule upon request by project team.
- Track basic project performance metrics (e.g.,
schedule performance indicators).
Qualifications
- Knowledge and expereince in project scheduling, planning, or project controls, preferably within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or a similar project environment.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, construction teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to identify schedule variances, assess the impact of delays, and support the development of recovery schedules and corrective actions.
- Strong understanding of scheduling fundamentals, including project dependencies, milestones, critical path, baseline schedules, and schedule logic.
- Experience monitoring project progress and incorporating actuals, changes, delays, and forecast updates into project schedules.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for advanced data analysis and reporting.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities and deadlines in a fast-paced project setting.
Work Conditions
- Ability to work from the office (Don Mills) five days per week
- Adaptability to project office dynamics and occasional flexibility for extended hours to meet critical project deadlines
