We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations while work in collaboration with all other departments to ensure accurate reporting that is inline with internal policies.
What you’ll do
- Preparing regular and monthly reconciliation of expenses, schedules, and key balance sheet accounts.
- Floorplan Management: Payout delivered units based on lending terms, Chattel incoming units, and send deferred payment requests for eligible units
- Maintain and reconcile vehicle inventory accounting, process dealer trade & lien payout cheques.
- Monitor outstanding Contracts in Transit (CIT) and follow up with Finance Managers to resolve outstanding items.
- Prepare timesheets, verify technician flag hours, and complete payroll worksheets for Controller review.
- Administer employee health and benefit programs and maintain accurate record-keeping
- Support the month-end close, including expense analysis, account schedules, factory statement reconciliations and other reporting requirements.
- Investigate discrepancies and work with the appropriate departments to resolve accounting issues promptly.
- Assist the Controller with reporting, analysis and special projects as required.
- Cross-train with other accounting and administrative functions and provide coverage when required.

Required qualifications and experience
- 2 + years of accounting experience (automotive or retail environment an asset).
- Experience with common industry accounting and payroll software is considered an asset (CDK, ADP Run, Payworks).
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and intermediate Excel skills.
- Proven ability to work well in a team environment as well as ability to self-motivate to finish tasks on or ahead of schedule.
- Must be organized, efficient and detail oriented. Well-spoken and clear communication
- Ability to be bonded and maintain confidentiality of financial data.
