Global is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of performance in production. In this role, you will profile backend services, ship critical performance fixes, and optimize latency across complex systems. You'll work primarily in Go, Java, Python, or Node, transforming production code into a fast and reliable experience. Key Responsibilities:

- Profile and root-cause performance issues in production
- Ship performance fixes in production code
- Drive tail-latency optimization at P90/P99
- Own error budgets and performance SLOs
- Design benchmarking and failure-injection infrastructure

Requirements:

- 5+ years of backend service experience
- Strong understanding of distributed systems
- Hands-on profiling expertise using eBPF
- Production observability experience
- Familiarity with CAMARA standards is a plus
