About Trafa
Trafa Pharmaceutical Inc. is a Canadian contract manufacturer specializing in natural health products and dietary supplements. From our manufacturing facility in Delta, British Columbia, we provide manufacturing solutions for established supplement brands in Canada, the United States, and international markets.
Our manufacturing capabilities include capsules, tablets, powder jars, powder pouches, stick packs, and sachets, with significant high-volume production capacity.
As we continue expanding our Canadian and international customer base, we are looking for an experienced and highly connected business development professional to lead new customer acquisition.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional account management position.
We are looking for a business development professional with an established network within the nutraceutical, dietary supplement, pharmaceutical, natural health product, or related consumer health industries who can open doors and develop meaningful new business opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for bringing established supplement brands, distributors, retailers, and international partners to Trafa for contract manufacturing and private-label opportunities.
A major focus of the role will be developing relationships with medium and large supplement brands in Canada and internationally, as well as identifying distributors and strategic partners for export markets.
Responsibilities
- Develop new contract manufacturing business with established Canadian, U.S., and international supplement and consumer health brands.
- Leverage existing industry relationships to obtain introductions and meetings with key decision-makers.
- Develop relationships with CEOs, founders,
purchasing teams, supply-chain executives, operations executives, and brand owners.
- Identify brands looking to outsource manufacturing, diversify their manufacturing partners, or move production to Canada.
- Develop international opportunities with supplement distributors, importers, and brand owners.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Attend customer meetings throughout Canada and internationally when appropriate.
- Represent Trafa at major nutraceutical, natural products, private-label, and contract manufacturing exhibitions and conferences.
- Manage opportunities from initial introduction through quotation, samples, technical discussions, negotiations, and commercial agreement.
- Work closely with Trafa's R&D;, regulatory, purchasing, quality, and manufacturing teams to develop solutions for prospective customers.
- Identify new geographic markets and strategic partnerships for international expansion.
- Maintain accurate forecasts and report regularly on pipeline activity, opportunities, and expected revenue.
- Develop long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities to expand existing accounts.
Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate already understands the supplement industry and has relationships that can translate into real commercial opportunities.
Candidates should have:
- 5+ years of successful business development or B2B sales experience.
- Experience within nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, natural health products, pharmaceuticals, functional foods, ingredients,
or contract manufacturing.
- An existing network of relationships with established supplement brands, distributors, retailers, or industry decision-makers.
- A demonstrated history of personally acquiring meaningful B2B accounts.
- Experience selling contract manufacturing, ingredients, packaging, private label, or related B2B services is strongly preferred.
- Strong commercial negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and business owners.
- Understanding of manufacturing economics, pricing, margins, and customer requirements.
- Willingness to travel throughout Canada, the United States, and internationally.
- Experience developing international distributors or export customers is highly desirable.
- Strong follow-up skills and the ability to independently move opportunities from introduction to signed business.
What Success Looks Like Success in this position will be measured primarily by profitable new business generated rather than the number of calls or emails made.
We are looking for someone capable of bringing Trafa meaningful relationships with established organizations and converting those relationships into long-term manufacturing partnerships.
Compensation
Base salary or commission-based compensation, as mutually discussed and agreed upon during the interview process.
Why Join Trafa
This is an opportunity to play a major role in the growth of an established Canadian supplement manufacturer with significant manufacturing capabilities and ambitions to expand aggressively across Canada, the United States, and international markets.
The right individual will have substantial autonomy to pursue large accounts, develop international relationships, and directly participate in the growth they create.
