Salary: $75,000 to $110,000 per year The Prospect:

BCS Automation is seeking an experienced, resourceful problem solver with strong technical aptitude for our Senior Electrical Control Systems Designer opening, with a primary focus on automation software development. In this role, you will lead the design, development, testing, and commissioning of PLC, HMI, and industrial network solutions for custom automation systems in marine and industrial applications, while working with a high degree of autonomy.

This role is ideal for a technically strong team member who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through commissioning, developing robust control software, collaborating with customers and colleagues, reviewing technical work, and delivering reliable, high-quality solutions.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced engineers and technologists while providing technical guidance and mentorship to other designers. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the successful delivery of custom automation projects and to support the continued growth of BCS in the marine and industrial automation industry.

Your Role:

- Lead and develop the design of custom electrical control systems and industrial networks for marine and industrial applications from concept through commissioning
- Lead and support the development, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of PLC and HMI networking and software
- Consult and collaborate with customers, vendors, engineers, technologists, and project teams to develop practical software and control-system solutions
- Interpret customer requirements, concepts, and technical specifications, and translate them into complete electrical designs and revision-controlled technical documentation
- Review, identify, and mark up electrical designs, PLC and HMI software, network configurations, and technical documentation
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior designers and other project team members
- Lead and support installation, commissioning, start-up, factory acceptance testing, and troubleshooting activities in shop, field, industrial, and marine environments
- Contribute technical expertise to project planning, estimating, product selection, procurement, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support new product development by evaluating,



recommending, and implementing applicable technologies
- Provide hands-on technical leadership during panel fabrication, system integration, testing, and commissioning activities

Qualifications and Experience:

- Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 years relevant work experience
- Experience designing control systems
- Experience analyzing and interpreting specifications
- Effective at translating customer concepts into detailed engineering documentation
- Demonstrated experience with PLCs, with a robust preference for Siemens TIA Portal, ladder logic, PROFINET, and Siemens HMI/WinCC; familiarity with Allen Bradley, Rockwell or Schneider platforms, VFDs, motor controls, industrial networks, and instrumentation
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, ask relevant questions, and work collaboratively with customers and internal teams (strong verbal and written communication skills are essential)

- Valid driver’s license (G2 or G)
- Valid passport for international travel
