As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will lead from the front:
- Direct and execute site investigations and field programs for soil and bedrock
- Deliver innovative engineering solutions in:
- Foundation design (deep and shallow)
- Earthworks & slope stability (rock mechanics and soil mechanics)
- Shoring systems & ground improvement
- Experience with mining, energy, and/or infrastructure clients
- Experience using geotechnical software packages (e.g. RocScience, GeoStudio, Plaxis, Leapfrog)
- Build trusted relationships with clients, regulators, and stakeholders
- Lead proposals, manage budgets, and monitor project performance
- Collaborate across disciplines and regions within GEI
- Mentor the next generation of engineers
Minimum Qualifications
You are a technically strong and relationship-driven professional who thrives on ownership and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering (Master’s or Ph.D is an asset)
- P.Eng. with APEGNB (or eligible)
- 8-15+ years of consulting experience in geotechnical or geological engineering
- Proven expertise in investigation, design, and analysis
- Robust communicator - clear, confident,
and client-focused
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff
- Skilled at balancing technical excellence, client relationships and project delivery
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in French is preferred.
- Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.
This role includes fieldwork and requires:
- Ability to work outdoors in variable conditions
- Ability to travel locally and to remote locations up to 35% of the time
- Valid driver’s license
- Bilingualism is an asset (English, French and/or Spanish)
- Canadian work permit or citizenship
- Previous consulting experience is an asset
