About the Role
We're looking for a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician to join our Edmonton team. You'll assemble, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control components on our chemical injection systems, tank systems, and remote power units. This role works primarily in our shop, with occasional travel to customer well sites
Key Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and calibrate field instrumentation (pressure transmitters, level switches, flow meters, thermocouples, control valves)
- Assemble and test panel wiring, junction boxes, and instrument loops to drawings and control narratives
- Perform loop checks, functional testing, and pressure/leak testing on skids and tank systems prior to shipment
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electrical faults in the shop and at customer sites as required
- Support commissioning and start-up alongside our Automation and Field Service teams
- Read and interpret P&IDs;, wiring diagrams, and instrument specification sheets
- Maintain calibration records, test results, and quality documentation
- Mentor apprentices toward journeyman certification
Qualifications
- Certificate of Qualification (Red Seal), Instrumentation and Control Technician
- 4–6+ years of experience in instrumentation — oil and gas, wellsite equipment, or industrial manufacturing preferred
- Experience with hazardous location wiring and CSA electrical code requirements
- Comfortable reading P&IDs;, wiring diagrams, and loop drawings
- Familiarity with PLC I/O wiring (programming not required)
- Valid driver's licence; willingness to travel periodically to customer sites, including remote locations
