Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Solution Architect to lead the architecture and modernization of enterprise-scale Java applications and data platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, cloud-native architecture, data pipelines, AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, Airflow, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and event-driven architectures. This role will provide technical leadership across multiple teams, drive architecture standards, and help modernize large-scale data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Design robust, scalable, and maintainable Java-based architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Provide technical leadership on Java application architecture, design patterns, performance, scalability, and code quality.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Design and optimize ETL/data pipeline architectures using Apache Airflow, AWS EKS, and PostgreSQL.
- Lead large-scale data pipeline re-architecture and regionalization initiatives.




- Modernize batch ETL pipelines into event-driven architectures using Change Data Capture (CDC) and Kafka Connect.
- Lead enterprise-wide schema management and cataloging using Kafka Schema Registry.
- Establish architecture standards, reusable design patterns, and technical templates for data ingestion and publishing.
- Guide integration of Java services with cloud infrastructure and data platform components.
- Build containerized unit-testing frameworks and leverage AI-assisted test generation to improve engineering productivity.
- Provide architectural guidance for business units and products built around large-scale data pipelines.
- Ensure solutions meet data quality, security, governance, scalability, and reliability standards.
- Mentor engineers and provide architecture guidance across multiple development teams.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across Product, Engineering, Business, and Architecture teams.
- Organize and lead Architecture Community of Practice (CoP) sessions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve scalability, reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement of engineering practices, documentation, development workflows, and architecture standards.
- Support cloud capacity planning and cost optimization initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex, high-priority production issues across Java applications and data platforms.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies and provide regular updates on accomplishments,



risks, and impediments.
- Stay current with industry trends in Java, cloud architecture, data engineering, Kafka, AI, and event-driven systems.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong experience with Java and enterprise application architecture.
- Expertise in Java design patterns, application architecture, scalability, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and AWS EKS/Kubernetes.
- Strong experience designing ETL/data pipeline architectures.
- Experience with Apache Airflow and PostgreSQL.
- Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka and Kafka Connect.
- Experience implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) architectures.
- Experience with Kafka Schema Registry and enterprise schema management.
- Strong understanding of event-driven and distributed system architectures.
- Experience with containerized applications and cloud-native development.
- Knowledge of data quality, security, governance, and integration architecture.
- Experience working with AI-assisted development or automated test-generation tools is preferred.
