Location: North York, ON – Hybrid (Minimum 2 days per week on-site)

Contract Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension with an option to extend by up to 2 years

Working Hours: M-F 35 hours per week

Pay Rate: $80-120/hour as T4 or INC (Open for discussion)

Job Title: Senior Risk Management Specialist

Summary of Scope of Work and Deliverables

- Report to the Director Project Control and Risk, working with the established risk management team, supporting project management teams in implementing and maintaining project risk management practices; developing project risk registers; developing and running risk profiles and establishing levels of confidence for specific outcomes, and comparing risk profiles with identified (cost, schedule, etc.) contingencies.
- Adhere to established Risk Management Procedures.
- Facilitate project risk workshops and meetings with project team to log (Project Risk Register) project risk identification, assessment, prioritization and development/ review of project risk management response strategies, monitoring and control of risks.
- Regularly review and update risk registers with project teams at different project stages to ensure risks are identified, assessed and managed effectively and provide updates to the project management team.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis (Monte Carlo analysis) to support making risk-informed decisions. Develop Quantitative risk analysis reports.
- Support and guide project teams in risk management applications and risk identification required for traditional and alternative procurement strategies.
- Compile risk information and create quarterly reports for the project managers.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of risk management procedures and work instructions.
- Preparation of QRA work plan by task for review and approval.
- Perform Cost Estimate Review workshop to define the confidence level of the cost estimate for Monte Carlo simulation (P80 probability)




- Perform Schedule Review workshop to define the confidence level of the project schedule for Monte Carlo simulation (P80 probability)
- Perform Risk Registry Review workshop to quantify the risk and run Monte Carlo simulation to define cost and schedule contingency (P80 Probability).
- Provide QRA Draft Report as per sample format and revise per comments and inputs.
- Issue final Quantitative Risk Analysis report for Cost, Schedule and Risk Registry.
- Support the risk cost breakdown structure to enable contingency drawdown curves.

Problem Solving and Analysis This position must exercise problem solving and analytical abilities in order to effectively manage and interpret risk information from a variety of sources, and to help elevate the project group knowledge and awareness on best practices.

This position will work with the following:

Qualifications and Experience

- Twenty or more (20+) years of experience in conducting project risk analysis of large, complex capital projects, facilitating workshops and conducting Quantitative Risk Assessments for project schedule and cost estimate contingency.
- In-depth knowledge of quantitative risk analysis principles, methods, procedures, and tools; good understanding of integration between cost, schedule and risk registry impact on QRA.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience related to quantitative risk analysis through the end-to-end project lifecycle, from project initiation, planning, executing, controlling, monitoring to closing.




- Demonstrated experience with all aspects of the Quantitative Risk Analysis (Cost, Schedule and Residual Risk from Risk Registry).
- Demonstrated experience with preparing QRA at different stages of the projects such as Preliminary Design, Detailed Design and Construction.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with leading QRA workshops
- Hands-on experience with Primavera P6, Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis and @Risk.
- Proficient in software applications relevant to the work.
- Sound understanding of basic engineering and construction methodologies.
- Solid understanding of different construction procurement methods and how responsibilities, costs, and risks are allocated among stakeholders (owner and contractor).
- Understanding of both project owner and project execution requirements.
- Ability to serve as a subject matter expert to project management team to provide technical guidance and recommendations.
- Well-developed organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills to manage large amounts of data.
- Ability to review and evaluate recommendations proposed by others, exercising independent judgment to ensure consistency with business goals.
- Effective interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and influencing skills; demonstrated ability to maintain effective and cooperative work relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong time management; ability to prioritize and balance competing demands in a deadline driven environment.

Formal education/training through which skills normally acquired: Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related technical or business discipline (e.g. engineering, construction management, project management), and progressive experience in planning and scheduling and/or project management; or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.

Relevant Risk Management Professional Certificates from industry leader organizations such as PMI (PMP, RMP), AACE (PRMP).
