Onsite 100% in Ottawa

VKS, Private AI, microservices, Kubernetes in general, stakeholder management, previous DND experience in addition to the secret clearance and darksite 5 days a week in Ottawa. (preferably local)

The request is for a Senior Consultant highly skilled with VKS and VMware Private AI. The candidate must hold a Canadian citizenship and possess a Secret Clearance issued by the government of Canada and must also be willing to be on site in Ottawa (Canada) 5 days/week.

- The VKS Senior Consultant will build, configure, and validate VKS in line with architecture designs, supporting customer teams through Day-1 and Day-2 operations.
- Deploy and configure VKS in VCF 9 environments.
- Integrate VKS with NSX networking and vSAN storage policies.
- Implement monitoring and lifecycle management via VCF Operations for Containers.
- Troubleshoot deployment and integration issues, providing timely resolution.
- Document build procedures, runbooks, and operational guides.
- Support workload onboarding and provide knowledge transfer to customer teams.
- Collaborate closely with the Architect to ensure successful outcomes.
- 3+ years VMware consulting or delivery experience.
- Hands-on experience deploying VKS (formally TKG) and related VMware components.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes operations, container networking, and storage integrations.
- Hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation 5.2; exposure to or training in VCF 9.
- Experience with NSX, vSphere, and SDDC Manager.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in customer environments.




- Understand network requirements for Supervisor Clusters (Management, Workload, Ingress, Egress CIDRs).
- Kubernetes CKA or CKAD certification.
- Experience with CI/CD tooling and container registries.
- Familiarity with GitOps and automation frameworks (Helm, ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.).

- Optional - VMware Cloud Foundation Architect (2V0-13.25)
- Deploy and configure VKS (VMware vSphere Kubernetes Service)
- Implement VKS workload domains in VCF 9
- Configure Kubernetes RBAC and namespace management
- Perform cluster validation and testing
- Integrate VKS with NSX networking and security
- Configure AVI load balancer for Kubernetes services
- Implement vSAN storage policies and CNS integration
- Set up VCF Operations for container monitoring
- Configure container registry and image management
- Kubernetes cluster operations and troubleshooting
- Container networking configuration and validation
- Storage class configuration and persistent volumes
- Workload onboarding and application deployment
- Namespace and resource quota management




- Diagnose VKS deployment and integration issues
- Resolve Kubernetes cluster and workload problems
- Analyze logs and perform root cause analysis
- Network and storage troubleshooting for containers
- Create build procedures and runbooks
- Document operational guides and best practices
- Build as-built documentation for VKS environment
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with customer teams
- Support Day-1 and Day-2 operations activities
- Work closely with the Architect on design alignment
- Execute build plans per architecture specifications
- Support customer technical teams during implementation
- Skilled customer-facing communication
- Coordinate with project manager on deliverables
- VCF 5.2+ hands-on experience with VCF 9 exposure
- NSX, vSphere, and SDDC Manager experience
- Container registries and image management
- CI/CD tooling familiarity (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
- GitOps and automation frameworks (Helm, ArgoCD)
