The Service Sales Specialist – serves as the technical and commercial expert supporting Siemens Account Managers in the development and growth of both the Engineered Drives Systems and Customer Services portfolios across Western Canada.
This highly technical, customer-facing role is responsible for identifying, developing, and winning opportunities involving Engineered Drives Systems, modernization projects, retrofit solutions, migrations, spare parts, service contracts, digital services, predictive maintenance, training, and lifecycle services.
Working closely with Account Managers, customers, consultants, EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, channel partners, and Siemens factory teams, the specialist acts as a trusted advisor, helping customers improve reliability, productivity, efficiency, cybersecurity, and overall operational performance.
Success in this role is measured by the ability to support Account Managers in winning complex technical opportunities, increasing customer engagement, expanding Siemens market share, and driving profitable growth across both products and services.
Account Manager & Customer Support
- Act as the primary technical and commercial subject matter expert for Account Managers.
- Support customer engagements throughout the sales cycle, including solution development, technical workshops, proposal preparation, presentations,
negotiations, and project execution.
- Build strong relationships with end users, consultants, EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, distributors, and channel partners.
- Develop account growth strategies and help position Siemens as the preferred automation, drives, and services partner.
Engineered Drives & Service Business Development
- Drive growth of the SINAMICS Drives Systems portfolio, including low-voltage drive systems, motors, automation integration, and engineered solutions.
- Promote Siemens Customer Services offerings including preventive maintenance, spare parts, service contracts, extended warranty programs, retrofit and migration projects, digital services, SITRAIN training, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, cybersecurity, and technical support programs.
- Identify and develop modernization, lifecycle service, retrofits and upgrade opportunities within the installed base.
- Conduct customer assessments, service audits, and lifecycle evaluations to uncover optimization and replacement opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities to achieve sales targets.
Technical Solution Development
- Understand Drives applications, customer’s operational challenges, specifications, and business objectives to develop value-based solutions.
- Support development of technical proposals, scope definition, costing strategies, and engineered solutions.
- Collaborate with Siemens engineering, application, factory, bid, and service execution teams to deliver customized customer solutions.
- Provide expertise for applications including pumps, compressors, conveyors, hoists, cranes, material handling systems, mining processes, water & wastewater facilities, process industries, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.
Digitalization & Lifecycle Services
- Promote Siemens digitalization technologies, Drive Train Analytics, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance, Industrial Edge, and lifecycle service solutions.
- Support customer initiatives focused on reliability improvement, energy efficiency, productivity enhancement, sustainability, and cybersecurity.
- Develop recurring service revenue opportunities and long-term customer engagement strategies.
Market Development & Industry Engagement
- Support business development activities across key industries including Mining, Metals, Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Water & Wastewater, Automotive, Aerospace, Food & Beverage, Defense, Manufacturing, and Infrastructure.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer requirements, and emerging technologies.
- Represent Siemens at customer events, technical seminars, trade shows, workshops, and industry conferences.
- Share market intelligence and support competitive positioning and win strategies.
Opportunity & CRM Management
- Maintain accurate sales opportunities, forecasts, account plans, and customer activities within Siemens CRM systems.
- Support opportunity strategy development, pursuit planning, and business reviews.
- Provide regular updates on pipeline development, project status, and market opportunities.
What will you need to succeed?
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of sales experience with variable frequency drives, motion controls, retrofit projects and lifecycle services sales.
- Experience supporting complex technical sales opportunities and major industrial projects.
- Experience working with Account Managers, consultants, EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, distributors, and end users.
- Strong technical and commercial acumen.
- Deep technical knowledge of variable frequency drives, motion control, automation systems, and lifecycle services.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong business development and consultative selling capabilities.
- Ability to influence technical and commercial decision-makers.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
- Results-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
